Fees and Rebates
FEES
The current fee for standard 50-minute sessions is $230
**This practice is not a bulk-billing practice**
Fees at Susan Edwards Clinical Psychology are substantially lower than the standard fees for psychologists recommended by the Australian Psychological Association
MEDICARE REBATES
Susan is a registered Medicare provider. For people whose symptoms meet diagnostic criteria for a mental health diagnosis, you may be eligible to receive a rebate through Medicare for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. The current rebate for a clinical psychologist is $141.85 per session. To be eligible to receive the rebate you will need to visit your doctor (GP or psychiatrist) who will assess your eligibility and prepare a mental health care plan for you to bring to your session.
HEALTH FUND REBATES
If you are member of a health fund and have ancillary cover, you may be eligible to receive a rebate for some of your psychological sessions. Funds vary as to how much you receive back so you will need to contact your health fund for this information. Some funds will only cover you if you have already had a mental health care plan and have claimed all those sessions for the year.
CANCELLATIONS AND MISSED APPOINTMENTS
You are welcome to call and change your session times as needed however please provide 24 hours notice. Cancellations or session changes without 24 hours notice incur the full fee as the cancellation fee. This fee is charged as it is usually too late to offer the session to somebody else. Please note, cancellation fees cannot be claimed through Medicare or your health fund.
